Still hopelessly lost in the tall trees, you’re not ready to give up yet. Then you see what looks like a corpse. You are relieved to see that it is not a dead body, but, instead, just more twisted and tangled roots of the Morton Bay Fig trees. Their beauty somehow doesn’t seem so appealing any longer. You just want to find your way out in these .hours.

You keep telling yourself that you are NOT hopeless lost You continue on as the tall  trees tower above you.

The confusing and disorienting part in all of this is that the Weeping Willows and Morton Bay Fig trees have all grown together, along with their twisted, tangled, and huge roots sprawling on the ground all around you. It makes it difficult to determine which way to go next. The further you walk into the trees , the more you continue to hop from root to root.

You keep looking around as you move in what you think is a forwardly direction. You’re just not sure anymore which direction is which. And, since you can’t see the sun because of the overgrowth from the tall trees, you can’t get your bearings. You’re thinking you gotta be lost. You continue to see what you think are the same trees and hanging formations of moss along with other growth, but it could just be that everything is now looking the same. You have absolutely no idea which way to go next.

Finally, you stop and collect your thoughts. You take a deep breath and let it out slowly.

Okay, so now you could continue in what seems like a forward direction, even though the trees would force you to turn this way and that.

You could attempt to retrace your steps in the hopes of going out the way you came in.

Going left could lead to that canyon you caught a glimpse of. Something tells you it could be that way.

Or, could the canyon be off to your left? Maybe you should head that way?

Time to decide ...
